Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about ordering, shipping, grading, and our policies at Trendsetter Collectibles. Don't see your question? Email info@trendsetter.company — we respond same business day.
Grading & Authentication
How do you authenticate your cards?
Every graded slab in our inventory is PSA, TAG, or BGS certified — we verify the cert number against the grading company's online database before listing. For raw cards, we photograph each one ourselves under daylight-balanced lighting before listing, and pull from sources we trust (case-fresh pulls, trusted local breakers, vetted singles dealers).
What's the difference between PSA, TAG, and BGS?
All three are third-party grading services. PSA is the most widely recognized and has the deepest comp data on eBay and TCGplayer. TAG (Technical Authentication & Grading) uses AI-assisted scanning and is newer but rapidly growing in collector acceptance. BGS (Beckett) is well-established but their pop reports for modern Pokémon are smaller. We carry all three when the slab passes our inspection.
Do you grade cards yourself?
No, we don't operate a grading service. We sell graded slabs we've sourced or sourced ourselves to be graded by PSA/TAG/BGS. If you're interested in submitting cards for grading, PSA's website is the standard starting point.
Can I crack a slab if I want to play with the card?
You can, but once a slab is cracked, the grade no longer applies and the card is no longer returnable to us under any circumstance.
Shipping & Delivery
How fast do orders ship?
Allow 24–48 hours for order processing and dispatch (excluding weekends and holidays). You'll receive a tracking email when the package ships.
What carriers do you use?
USPS Ground Advantage for orders under $40, USPS Priority Mail for $40–$999.99 (with insurance and signature confirmation as order value scales), and USPS Priority Express or UPS Ground for $1000+ orders. Origin: Wylie, TX.
Is my order insured?
Yes. All orders ship insured for the full order value. Orders $500 and above also ship with USPS signature confirmation required at delivery — someone must sign for it.
Do you ship internationally?
Not currently — we ship to US addresses only. For Canada, Japan, EU, or other international destinations on high-value pieces, email us and we can quote case-by-case.
What if my package is damaged in transit?
All orders ship insured via USPS. If your order arrives damaged, you file the USPS insurance claim directly at usps.com/help/claims.htm using your tracking number. Photograph the outer packaging and contents immediately on arrival — USPS will require photo evidence. We do not file claims on your behalf, and Trendsetter Collectibles does not issue refunds or replacements for shipping damage.
Returns & Policies
What's your return policy?
All sales are final. No exceptions. We do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges for buyer's remorse, condition disagreement, grade dispute, shipping damage, or lost packages. See our full Refund Policy for details.
Why all sales final?
Our inventory is single-piece — when a card sells, it's gone. We don't have backup copies. Returns mean a card may sit out of inventory for weeks and may be damaged in transit either direction. Pricing on graded slabs and rare singles also moves daily based on sold comps. To keep pricing fair, inventory moving, and overhead low, we operate on a strict inspect-before-you-buy model.
Can I see additional photos before purchase?
Yes, absolutely — and we encourage it. Email info@trendsetter.company with the card name and what you'd like to see (front, back, corners, surface under angle, slab cert label, etc.). Same-business-day response in most cases. Because all sales are final, take advantage of this before purchase.
Inventory & Sourcing
Where do you source your cards?
A mix of: direct case purchases, vetted singles dealers, established local breakers, and submissions we send out for grading ourselves. We don't buy from random unknown sellers, and we don't repack.
How often do you restock?
Weekly. New PSA submissions come back from grading, fresh sealed product arrives from distributors, and we source Japanese-exclusive pieces as we find clean copies. Subscribe to our email list to get advance notice of new arrivals.
Can I request a specific card you don't currently have?
Yes — email info@trendsetter.company with the card, condition, and language you're looking for. We don't promise to find every request, but for in-demand pieces we'll keep an eye out and reach out when we source one.
Japanese vs English & Payment
Are your Japanese cards authentic?
Yes. JP Pokémon TCG is printed by The Pokémon Company in Japan and distributed primarily through Japanese retail. We source through trusted JP-direct channels. Counterfeit Japanese cards exist but are usually obvious; every JP card we list has been inspected for print quality and texture against authenticated reference copies.
What payment methods do you accept?
Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Meta Pay, all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, Discover), and Shop Pay Installments for eligible orders. We do not currently accept PayPal, crypto, or wire transfer.
